Lynx Live 2024
By Lucie Donovan On the evening of April 25th, 2024, Meow Wolf was abuzz with excitement as CU Denver students converged, eager for a night of live music and immersive experiences. The air crackled with anticipation as they flooded the venue, drawn by the promise of captivating performances from student bands Tireshoe and Fiamoré, setting the stage for headliner Hailey Knox. The night held more than just music; it was a full sensory experience. Attendees were treated to an array of delights, from music to merch and even giveaways, ensuring there was something for everyone. Tireshoe, a student favorite, played a set featuring fan favorites from their debut EP “LEAVE YOUR......
Bandmates, Friendship, and Creating Together with Blackberry Pyper, Exhaler, and Audrey Riggs.
By Lucy Lassman Contrary to popular belief, the University of Denver and the University of Colorado Denver are two different institutions. However, on the evening of February 29th, it would be impossible to distinguish the two schools. CU and DU students came together at Glob, with a lineup featuring the best bands of both schools. Blackberry Pyper, Audrey Riggs and her band, as well as Exhaler and Surprise Soup, put on a hell of a show, proving just how talented college bands can be, and to never underestimate the complexities and creativity of the adolescent mind. First up was Blackberry Pyper, who got the ball rolling with power. They produced a stellar set, with incredible......

Circling Girl Brings the Dreamscape to The Skylark Lounge
By Lucie Donovan Merch designed and crafted by the band and the retro checkered floors illuminated by the dim glow of purple stage lights at Skylark Lounge created a warm and welcoming energy for fans of local Denver dream pop band Circling Girl last Friday. With support from Autumnal and Yes Baby, the lineup and the classic aesthetic of the lounge made for a surreal atmosphere perfect for a crowd ready to enter the melodic dream realm. Circling Girl’s ethereal soundscapes and introspective lyrics invite the audience into a new perspective of the collective subconscious shared by many. Noah Thomas, Jesse Crone, and Linus Flynn skillfully weave airy instrumentals with Isabel......
Harmonizing Vulnerability: Hala Hooper's Unforgettable EP Release at The Denver Art Society
By Lucie Donovan Hala Hooper took to the stage at The Denver Art Society on Saturday, January 13th for the release of her new EP “it’s getting hard to romanticize this….” Surrounded by the creative expressions of local artists, Hooper graced the audience with songs like “hinge is stealing my soul” and “Lizzy McAlpine and things,” giving everyone the chance to reflect on the modernly universal experiences of oversharing with a stranger from the internet during moments of unsure intimacy and the saltiness of music taste shared with someone gone “ghost mode.” Common artistry struggles like technical difficulties have no hold over......
Diving Into Artist Management with Isabelle Gray
The music industry is reliant on many people outside of performance artists. One of the key roles that assists in an artists’ success is their management. Artist managers deal with logistics of performance such as the negotiation, scheduling, and oversight of shows, but that is just a small portion of their responsibility. Denver Lynx Radio talked to Isabelle Gray, manager of the band Tireshoe, about her experience with artist management and the Denver music scene. After coming to Denver from Louisville, Kentucky, Isabelle has found her niche here at CU in acapella performance and music business. “I came to CU Denver because of Lark. I saw them perform at nationals my sophomore......
